Windows Media Center
The standard operating system for the Inspiron 531 Windows Vista ® Home Premium. The advantage of this for entertainment, is that Windows Media Center features to help you make the best Audio, video and television. Simply attach a camcorder or digital camera and with appropriate software, you have a film and photography studio in your home. To complete the installation and watch, record and rewind TV shows, simply add a digital TV tuner.
It is also interesting to note that Windows Vista ® Home Premium a new parental controls so you decide what your children can see and do.
Visuals
The computer graphics card determines the quality your visual experience. For the Inspiron 531, Dell installed the NVIDIA ® GeForce ® 8300GS TurboCache. This allows you to watch movies and games that are much defined and flicker.
Monitors
Good graphics cards require good monitors. Dell provides this with its 19 "Wide Screen Silver flat and its 22 "Black Flat Screen. These units are dainty as providing a clear definition.
Audio
Sound quality should match images. The Inspiron 531 has integrated 7.1-channel Surround Sound High Definition Audio (High Definition Audio) format. To improve this further and get a surround sound Home Theater add optional SoundBlasterTM XFiTM XtremeMusic card.
Updates
The XtremeMusic card is just one of the available updates for the Inspiron 531. With four external connectors, four bays and eight USB 2.0 ports you can add the hard drive and memory and graphics improved and optical drives.
Privacy
But if you upgrade, you must consider the danger of loss of text and images if the hardware or software fails. To counter this possibility, Dell DataSafe DataSafe Online and Local. DataSafe Local backup your data on a second hard disk in the computer; DataSafe Online is supported to a remote storage site.
