Knock Knock: Trick or Treat?
Halloween, the ghost and candy night, is just around the corner. What are you going to dress up this Halloween? Have you prepared costumes for your kids? Halloween is a night of fun and excitement. However, it is also a time of potential danger. As processing into the winter months, we get less daylight and many planned activities will take place in the cover of darkness. Here are some safety tips for Halloween.
1.When purchasing or making a costume, select the bright-colored ones or those with reflective materials on them. If the kid will wear a dark-colored costume, make sure they carry a flashlight or glow stick. So they can be seen easily in the dark.
2.Sgt. Aaron Cassel says, “They (the kids) want to go house to house and they see all the kids getting candy at a certain house, and they'll dash between cars without looking either way.” So the costume should not be too long or too big for avoiding tripping. And make-up is better than a mask since the make-up allows for clear views.

3.Make sure the neighborhood where the kids will go trick-or-treating is safe and familiar. Tell the children not go to a house when the lights are off.
